Berga Recycling Inc. Acquired by BEWI ASA

Berga Recycling Inc., a Canadian world leader in the purchase and sale of materials for recycling, was recently acquired by BEWI ASA, a Norwegian leading provider of packaging, components and insulation solutions.

Berga Recycling Inc., a Canadian world leader in the purchase and sale of materials for recycling, was recently acquired by BEWI ASA, a Norwegian leading provider of packaging, components and insulation solutions.

This transaction is strategically important for BEWI ASA and will enable the company to continue to lead the change towards a circular economy. The opportunities Berga Recycling’s platform provide enable BEWI ASA to challenge existing business models and structure the supply chain for materials for recycling. BEWI ASA’s commitment to sustainability is integrated throughout the value chain, from production of raw materials and end goods to recycling of used products.

Berga Recycling’s vision is to become the world’s largest agency for materials for recycling. In 2021, the company purchased and sold an annual volume of approximately 82,000 tons of materials for recycling through a network of hundreds of customers globally. The trading is completed through an online trading platform allowing the purchase of materials for recycling from the companies that generate them and selling to those who transform them.
